JVC MOBILE ENTERTAINMENT HONORS CHARM CITY DEVILS WITH A PLATINUM AWARD TO COMMEMORATE 3.4 MILLION VIRAL VIDEO VIEWS
Los Angeles, Calif. - August 5th, 2009 - On July 31st, JVC Mobile Entertainment (www.mobile.jvc.com), leading developer and manufacturer of sophisticated mobile, audio, and video products, presented Charm City Devils with a platinum award to commemorate 3.4 million views of the "TURN ME ON 2" (www.spin.com/turnmeon) viral video, shattering the first video by over 1.4 million views at the same time last year. The award was presented backstage during the Crüe Fest 2 show in San Bernardino, CA.
The sequel to last year's highly successful "TURN ME ON" viral video, which has received 5 million viral views to date, "TURN ME ON 2" personifies rock n' roll decadence with appearances and music by Charm City Devils along with Darling Stilettos, beautiful women, fast cars, and new JVC in-car technology. "TURN ME ON 2" promotes four new in-car A/V products: the El Kameleon-KD-AVX77 5.4" wide touch screen multimedia receiver, the KW-AVX720 7" touch screen multimedia receiver, the KW-NT1 6.1" touch screen navigation system, and the KW-NX7000BT 7" touch screen navigation system. The video is also featured on the JVC giant HD billboard in Times Square in New York City, providing additional exposure and views.
Filmed at the legendary Universal Studios back lot and the CBS Studios New York Street lot, with creative director/writer Danny Klein (e2amp) and director Steven Lippman (Steven Lippman Print + Film) at the helm, the two-day video shoot showcased the Charm City Devils' incredible talents, featuring both appearances and new songs from the band.
"For 'TURN ME ON 2' JVC Mobile chose the up-and-coming band, Charm City Devils, to create the edgy vibe for the viral video," stated Chad Vogelsong, General Manager Marketing, JVC USA Mobile Entertainment Division. "From their look, to their attitude and their music, Charm City Devils personifies the rock n' roll way of life, perfectly representing the JVC Mobile brand."
John Allen, lead singer of Charm City Devils said, "JVC Mobile offered Charm City Devils such an incredible opportunity to be a part of "TURN ME ON 2" as the featured performer with our first single "Let's Rock-N-Roll" as the music bed for the video. This is our first platinum award and we will never forget our first time."
In mid August, JHG, a San Diego-based digital marketing agency that focuses on progressive interactive and mobile strategies, will partner with JVC Mobile to execute a retweet campaign through Twitter. The Twitter contest will offer viewers of the video the opportunity to tweet the URL of the video for the chance to win one of the 4 JVC Mobile products shown in the "TURN ME ON 2" viral video, every week for a month.
JVC Mobile is also an official sponsor of Crüe Fest 2, which stars Mötley Crüe with Godsmack, Drowning Pool, Theory of a Deadman and Charm City Devils. The campaign is actively promoted on the Crüe Fest 2 tour (www.CrueFest2.com) with the viral video featured on the web assets for Charm City Devils (www.charmcitydevils.com), the Darling Stilettos and The Last Vegas (www.thelastvegas.com).
