SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) is an open source video transport protocol that enables the delivery of high-quality and secure, low-latency video across the public Internet. SRT optimizes streaming performance across unpredictable networks with secure streams and easy firewall traversal, bringing the best quality live video over the worst networks. It accounts for packet loss, jitter, and fluctuating bandwidth, maintaining the integrity and quality of your video.
SRT provides end-to-end security, resiliency and dynamic endpoint adjustment based on real-time network conditions to deliver the best video quality at all times on any network.
SRT is built-in and can be dynamically adjusted for optimal stream performance and quality. Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) is included with SRT. End-to-end 128/256 bit AES encryption makes sure your content is protected from contribution to distribution.
SRT features |
How |
Details |
STABILITY:
Delivers broadcast-quality video over the Internet. Resilient to network congestion, high jitter, and packet loss. |
Error
Correction |
ARQ |
When packets are lost, the SRT decoder requests an encoder (camera) to resend lost data to eliminate potential video dropouts and artifacts. Up to 30% of data loss can be recovered. |
FEC |
Forward Error Correction adds redundant data to the stream to be used to recover packets lost due to unstable connection, Internet congestion, and high jitter. |
SECURITY:
Protects video channel from unauthorized access. Provides extra security when moving video over public networks. |
Encryption |
Stream ID |
The SRT decoder only accepts the streams with embedded, encoder specified Stream ID. All other streams are ignored. The single port can be utilized to receive multiple streams differentiated by unique Stream IDs. |
AES |
The entire SRT stream is encrypted with the industry-standard AES-128/256 standard. The "passphrase" is required on both encoding and decoding sides. |
SYNCHRONIZATION:
Multicamera SRT streams synchronization for REMI. |
Embedded
Timecode |
NTP |
Multiple cameras TC can be synchronized with the NTP server via LAN or Wi-Fi Internet connection. |
LTC |
End-to-end remote cameras synchronization solution with CONNECTED CAM Studio KM- IP4000/6000 series of video switchers. |
VITC |
Industry-standard TC compatible with Haivision, VITEC, and other decoders. |
